Le batardeau

Discovery and recreation

The batardeau is a lovely waterfall serving as an overflow for the En-Haut pond. On the other side of the bridge, a beautiful view unfolds of the back of the houses on Rue Rempart des Jésuites (the limit of the old fortifications) and the gardens crossed by the Marchette, which once constituted the city's moats.

You might encounter this legendary creature at the Batardeau.

It is a bronze unicorn, cast at the Metamagma Workshop.

This project was led by the Interest Group for the Marchois Environment (GRIMM), in collaboration with the City.

The sculpture was funded by GRIMM, the General Tourism Commissioner (CGT), and the Province.
