Parc van der Straten

Discovery and recreation

The park, covering an area of 3 hectares, features several remarkable trees, an 'ecological pond', a space for skateboard enthusiasts, and a playground that delights children. The castle was acquired in 1966 by the municipality of Marche to become the town hall in 1977. This fully renovated and expanded building in 2013 is worth a visit. Before becoming municipal property, the estate and the Château du Plantis (its former name) belonged to Baron Carlos Van der Straeten-Waillet, who purchased it in 1908 from the Bonjean family.
