Eglise Saint-Pierre

Discovery and recreation

The Saint-Pierre parish church, in neo-Romanesque style, was built between 1873 and 1875. The restoration and leadwork of the stained glass windows were carried out by L.M. Londot in 1968. The church houses a classic painted wooden high altar (featuring a canvas depicting the Descent from the Cross) dating from the 18th century, a pulpit from the early 19th century, a thurible dating from the mid-16th century, and baptismal fonts from the 16th century. A statue of Saint Peter (early 16th century) and a dressed Virgin are also preserved, along with two carved wooden panels dating from around 1600. In the cemetery, there is a Gothic wrought iron cross (from the bell tower of the old church) and a tombstone of Canon Grofey (18th century).
