Le village de Marloie

Discovery and recreation

Marloie experienced significant development in the 19th century due to the junction of the Brussels-Arlon railway lines and the Ourthe line. Today, Marloie station is the main train station in the region. On May 21, 1944, a German convoy of 30 wagons loaded with 450 tons of explosives was targeted by Allied bombings, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people, hundreds of injuries, and the devastation of the village. The parish church was also destroyed and rebuilt in 1954.
