Le village de Verdenne

Discovery and recreation

The village of Verdenne suffered greatly during the Battle of the Bulge. One of the streets is named 'Christmas 1944' and a monument has been erected in memory of several resistance fighters who were shot in September 1944. The Saint-Hubert Chapel dates back to 1857. The expansive grounds of Verdenne Castle date from 1860 and are surrounded by an arboretum featuring a collection of around 150 species of maples (private property).
