Ancien château-ferme

Discovery and recreation

This ancient castle-farm encompasses the remains of a medieval keep made of schist sandstone (private property). The whole dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The medieval keep belonged to the feudal court of La Roche from the 16th century. The successive owners were the Montplainchamps, Auxbrebis, Nonancourt, Everlange, Schmitz, and Monin families. The keep, measuring about 7 meters on each side, was transformed as early as the 14th-15th centuries, with additional openings made during the 18th and 19th centuries. This construction was expanded to the east in 1760 and to the west in 1809. To the west of the main house, there are stables under a hayloft, made of timber and brick, dating from the 19th century. Opposite, a barn was built during the first half of the 19th century, with other buildings added in the 20th century.
